I have the 3.0 4speed automatic version of the above truck. Ever since I got it, and I’ve been pulling with it, the rear passenger side has been slowly sagging. It’s now to the point that the rear is lower than the front with no load. To get to the point I need a leaf spring. The current springs have three leaves and are probably the 1250 standard springs but what do I know. The code on the door is “DK” so “D” for the front and “K” for the rear I do believe. I cannot figure out what spring “K” is meant to be. I have no clue if they’ve been replaced, I would assume those are the own springs on there, but this truck is at 258,000.

If the rear is that low, I'd be checking to make sure the spring mounts are still attached to the frame of the truck.

I wouldn't worry about what stock was as much as what you're doing with the truck... If you regularly have it loaded heavier springs may be a good idea. That said I agree that the rear should never end up lower than front unless something is broken or has been severely overloaded.

I had already ordered leaf spring helpers 1,000 pounds each, to assist in the weight distribution, before I noticed I needed new springs. So, I’m thinking I should get the standard springs and add the helpers. I just don’t want to put on springs that are lighter than it was intended for. The vin seems to indicate heavier springs than are currently on it right now. I’ve been discovering all kinds of things, for instance I do believe it’s a flex fuel model.
