I was pushing my horn button down and it wouldn't make a sound but I could hear it trying. So I pressed down hard and sparks started popping from the back of it and then nothing. I checked my horn fuse relay and it's fine. The blue wire was completely broken off when I removed the button, and I cut some of the plastic back to redo it but I need a 22/ 18 connector. So I followed the wiring on the back to what looks like a box but it has no stickers on it but a SN of 358059. It's located next to my driver side fuse box. Does anyone know what it is?

That's ringing a bell real hard. I remember installing these in the late '70s, through the '80s.

I'm pretty damn sure that it's the control module for a dealer-installed cruise control.

I think that these were made by SCS, and sold at the Ford dealerships for in-house installations. And they were also available aftermarket.

Here's one of those on eBay, in a complete kit:

from which I shamelessly borrowed this pic:

If you have dealer cruise the controls are mounted on the turn signal lever i believe...instead of the wheel like factory cruise.

Atlest my 83 F150 was.
