What did YOU do today?

Day started with a little ego boost this morning.

I came down at 8:30 to walk Lincoln the second time, and this really nice Kenworth (?) dump truck was parked in front of my house. Unusual because it’s a busy two lane, with a bike lane on either side, so he had to block traffic to stop. It was a pretty sharp truck, waxed up red, stainless inserts in the bed, immaculate stainless wheels. The guy obviously knows trucks.

It was absolutely pouring rain, but then the driver came out. He was obviously a well educated, intellectual gentleman, with an appreciation of fine things, with discerning tastes, no doubt popular with the ladies and in his circles.

He got out to take a picture of the Missing Linc at the top of my driveway.

I’m just glad I didn’t have the Road Ranger out there. He might have wrecked…

Nice river, ya got there. How's the fishing?

[Yesterday]
Went to look at a 2000 Mountaineer as a possible V8 donor for my Ranger. Came home empty-handed.

When the ad said "runs and drives", it should have said "ran when parked here a year ago." We proved that it's not seized. Couldn't get it to run without ether. Interior is mostly trashed and mildewy. Even though the only part if the interior I need is the dash, the whole thing was generally nasty to be around. Ultimately, it got dark and I wasn't prepared to fight a non-driving vehicle onto my trailer with just a winch. Also didn't want to insult the guy with an offer of 1/3 his original asking price.

Found this interesting sculpture while rummaging around inside looking for the key.

FIFY

It looks like it was very babied judging by the air filter that is jammed in the hood. :icon_thumby:

That's where I laid the air filter after I pulled it out to check its condition. I deemed it unsatisfactory for further use.

Did you even try to blow it out though?

had that happen to mine a few years ago. mine did not have the spring coupler, it had a soft plastic sleeve that was splined inside. the old one got brittle and shattered into a thousand pieces. a two pack of replacements was 8 bucks on Amazon.
