What did YOU do today?

I went to urgent care. I slipped while cleaning the bathroom on Sunday and landed sideways against the bathtub. It hurt, but I was able to get up and was mostly OK after Satan quit jabbing me in the ribs with a pitchfork. It was tender the rest of the day and yesterday, as expected. Today I turned in my chair at work and it felt like I was struck by lightening where I smashed my ribs. I couldn't get up out of the chair for about 20 minutes, then once I got up the pain was so bad that I couldn't sit back down. I left work to go get it checked and they said, "Sir, you fractured two ribs." Then I got the speech about how he couldn't prescribe anything for the pain that actually works because people get addicted to stuff.

What is weird is I was just sore until I turned in my chair. Now it hurts to walk.

Busted ribs suck, especially going into cold and flu season.

Dad fell off a combine a few years ago and broke a couple ribs. There is no real fixing to it aside from time. Just when he halfway got used to it he sneezed and thought he was going to fly apart.

After a couple of days of driving it looks like so far my axle leak on the fwd/4cyl escape is fixed, had a good bit of wind the other night and a peice of facia came off the house, too far up for my ladder, plus would be darn difficult to do myself, had someone come out & give me a quote of $250 to put it back up. Guess that aint as bad as it could of been, couldn’t get a definite time of them coming out to do the job and its been raining all day. Cleaned out the chicken house today since it’s supposed to get very cold again & with the warm wet december it was getting quite ripe in there. A few days ago I started the tractor up & it didn’t seem to want to run right so now that I got that seal & bushing replaced in the escape I put the tractor in the garage, might see about a set of points & see if that helps. Being out in its shelter (made from a 12x12 kennel & tarps) just might of been too damp for it. Once it gets frozen again it might be ok out there again. Christmas is all put away for 11 months. Just 2 more hours left in this month & year.
Happy new year

I've fixed fascia like that many times by laying on the roof and using a screw gun and screws. Don't screw into the face, screw up from underneath. Once you get one screw in you can go to the ladder and finish. You can paint the screw heads white before hand too.

Just imagine a pony farm named "Twisted Sisters".

i’ve been to the Pink Pony in Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, and I think it was Tampa. Place was always full of twisted sisters.

I made a calendar today. Now I need to get a dozen and a half printed for all our relatives

Nothing!

Slept in this morning, then sat on my backside and relaxed the rest of the day.

Lots to do, but a day in the middle of the week just isn't enough time to get anything finished. Would have worked great for getting a few things started, but they are all potentially big projects that need to wait until I finish some stuff on the Ranger to get started on. Hopefully it'll be back from the exhaust shop on tomorrow or Friday and I can have it back drivable in the next week or two.

Hope everone had a good and safe New Years day, and weren't caught up in the insanity that happened this morning. Explosions, potentially terrorists atacks, in Las Vegas and New Orleans if you haven't heard. I just found out about them about 20 minutes ago myself.

Got a terrible pixture of the ranger rolling 1000 miles. It actually says 1000.1 but we were in a construction zone and the lanes kept swerving so i didnt even look, just pushed the picture button when it was facing that way.

Other than 24 miles, thats all mine since the day after christmas, and when we got home, it said 1034 so thats a bunch of miles in 7 days.

But, everyone who has been in it was super impressed. My dad, my brother and brother in law, nephews, and my kids. My oldest said he for sure getting a ranger now that has been in one on some distance drives. The two boys sat in the back seat for this recent 900 miles of new years and no complaints. They even chose the ranger over the wrangler because its quieter, smoother, and has an arm rest in the back.

Jason said he will probably get an xlt 4x4 though because he said omaha gets to cold in the mornings and he has 2.5 more years till he goes to another unit.

It took 6 months and three trips to the courthouse but I finally got our "new" camper in my name.

Registration says for trailers under 2k just sign it over.
Nope, campers are the exception, even trailers with tents made into the top of them, gotta have a title.
But wait just a title isn't enough, Not even with the registration that has the buyer/seller and sale price
Gotta have a bill of sale too.

:temper:

after being raised in New Jersey, 50 years later, I am still astounded at how liberal Georgia is on titles and tags and bills of sale. And there’s no vehicle inspection per se. If your vehicle is less than 25 years old, you have to take it to an emission testing station as they plug in the computer and measure the gases in the tailpipe. But no safety checks no equipment checks, are the headlights level, none of that.

I can’t wait for the first time I get stopped out of Atlanta out of Georgia, especially around New York, New Jersey or someplace like that, and I show the registration for the Ranger with four tires and a bed, and the title and registration for my Coleman pop-up camper, which has a model number and a single axle. Actually several cops have sort of stopped me, but they just wanted to check out the truck. I’m kind of relying on the sheriffs association membership card, keeping me out of trouble, but I’ve also known I should probably go down the state and get some kind of letter or something that says that the thing is roadworthy as modified.

Ya know, I kind of wish that they did the opposite. I'm all for freedom to modify vehicles how ever you want to as long as its safe. Forget emissions inspections, but do some general safety inspections. The amount of vehicles that I see running around this state with glaringly obvious safety equipment failures is astounding. Stuff that onlyl puts the owner/operator at risk, what ever goes. Stuff that puts others at risk, no-go. No seat belts or sitting on a milk crate, who cares. No working brake lights (or lights at all) no brakes, not acceptable. Problem is, if we start letting them do that, who makes the call on what is safe and unsafe. That whole give them an inch and they'll take a mile works both ways.

As for your truck, you don't need anything from the state. It might get funny looks, but it's perfectly legal anywhere here. Even if you had a letter from GA saying that it's roadworthy, another state isn't going to care what GA thinks.

What's the deal with the camper? I don't understand the question there. Doesn't matter that it's only a single axle. They don't need to see the title, just that it's registered which they can easily get from running the plate. Is it no longer a pop-up and been converted to something else? As long as the serial number plate matches the registration all is good. Converting old pop-up frames, camper frames in general, into utility (or other) type trailers is a common occourance everywhere. My 6x14 (IIRC) flat bed was formerly a camper frame, though since the portion with the serial number was gone it got a state assigned serial number.

Texas no longer does safety inspections starting january 2025 and i am worried about what is going to be driving around.

oooh really, that pissed me off because my 06 had a retro reflector hood that fell loose (GM eliminated it in 07 as it is not needed since the bulb itself has a retro on it) and they denied me registration once because my headlights were "not fully functional". (high beams worked, low beams worked, DRL works, auto on/off works ... did not have auto-dimming cause that is like a 2012+ feature)

You’ve been gone a while. NJ stopped doing safety inspections 20 years ago. They only emissions inspect 1996 and newer light duty vehicles. It’s all through the OBD2 port, there’s no more tailpipe probe.

I agree, safety first. I wouldn’t be worried about going through a safety inspection.

The step trailer started life as a single axle camper, and there was a model number. I always have 1000% support for law-enforcement, but they work for the government. My concern is they’d look at the make and model on the registration, realize it’s different, and immediately assume it’s something stolen or something like that. Like driving a Chevy that’s registered as a Ford.

I don’t mean to slander anybody, but I was raised in New Jersey/New York, and sometimes you run into the crowded big city “attitude.“
