Replace spark plugs spark plug wires and left ignition coil an EGR valve. That's all I can think of at the moment that's been replaced. I've had it in the shop three times two different mechanics cannot fix the problem. The mass airflow sensor has been cleaned and a new air filter has been put in.

It acts like it wants to die at an intersection or while driving it shakes really bad. With the oxygen sensors have anything to do with this.

It would help to know what engine it is... but obviously cylinder #4 isnt firing and with a lean code on the same bank I'd check that the injector is firing.

It 4V 2.5 liter engine.
How do you check the fuel injector I am no mechanic by the strength of the imagination. I'm a computer technician.

1998 Ranger with ???

2.5l 4cyl engine?

Assuming that from replaced "left ignition coil" statement

If a 4 cyl engine then a misfire in #4 means 25% of the engine is not working

Lean code could be from the misfire

O2 sensor code for sensor 2(behind cat converter) wouldn't effect engine operation, but should be looked at, "heater" wire(s) may have come in contact with exhaust pipe and melted

P1000 just means computer has been reset recently, takes a few Drive cycles for computer to retest all the systems
One Drive cycle = full warm up and full cool down

So what do the #4 spark plug tips look like, the old ones?
They can tell you condition inside the cylinder

Also I think cranberry juice works for the yeast infection issue.

The mechanic said that there was some found out plugs I do remember that now.

That's what my Bluetooth scanner says
What program should I use for Android that would give me a better clue on what's going on?

Another scan tool isnt going to help. You need to find out why there is a misfire on cylinder 4. You need spark, fuel, and compression. You can get a cheap spark tester at any parts store. For fuel you can simply disconnect the ignition wire on that cylinder, run it and then pull the plug and see if its wet with fuel. For compression you need a compression gauge. Any mechanic should have tested these things already though...

I'd like to double-check that I'm getting the same codes. He said it only misfired one time for him. When I get home later on I will post a copy of the receipt. You guys are jogging my memory I'm sorry.

Here's what's real funny I went and visited my grandmother and the misfire code went away.

Somebody's telling you that you need to visit your grandmother more often.

Here's the receipt from the mechanic

Honestly I dont know how much help we can be. That receipt doesn't tell us much about what was wrong, or what the mechanic did. And if the problem persists after the repair Id bring it back and discuss it with the shop. Obviously he replaced the intake gasket, I assume he found a leak. What other tests were done? You said he did plugs and wires but they aren't on the receipt? Did you do them yourself?

I bought them and took them to him he said he did them. He cannot figure out why it has a lean code. I called a muffler shop today and they think it is the O2 oxygen sensor by the catalytic converter.

I think he's basically done with me for this situation.

Sounds like you need a new mechanic.
