Good afternoon everyone,

I'm having a bit of trouble trying to figure out my fuel system and was hoping someone would know more about what I can do to make a it a reliable system. My current setup uses a holley red electric fuel pump and weber 32/36 carb, however I can't find for the life of me a good recommendation for a fuel regulator. the two I have found are the weber/malpassi 31800.064, or a fuelabs billet fuel regulator. I understand the use of a deadhead regulator but I wanted a bypass style regulator with a return to the tank as I have already burnt out two edelbrok fuel pumps and a carter P4070 fuel pump as well. I also understand the weber regulator is a forced induction regulator, but I was hoping I could cap off the boost port for my N/A setup. there might even be a tune up kit for a stronger needle and seat for the weber to run higher PSI but I haven't gone as far as to look for one.

So far everything else has been changed that I did personally, all this is run in a 1984 ranger with the 2.3l motor from a later model 1988 ranger that uses an electric pump so their is no possibility of running a mechanical pump. The tank is also from a 1988 ranger for the use of the return style system, and all the lines and fitting are replaced as well. If anyone has any insight into this issue or any advise on these products it would help tremendously.

thank you,

What is the rated fuel pressure (psi) of the red pump?

Its 7psi at 96gph

That pressure should be fine for the weber iirc. I ran a Weber on a Mazda 2.8 (I think, it was awhile ago) with the stock mechanical pump and no return line. Worked great right out of the box. But that's not what you want to know...
I'm sorry, I don't have the knowledge of pressure regulators like you're looking for. Hope someone here can help.

Thats ok, I ordered the weber 31800-064 so we’ll see if it works. I did try to run just the pump but there was so much fuel shooting back out it looked like a bonfire under the hood lol
