Just got done putting new front brake lines on my truck and the peddle doesn't feel as stiff as it should be. I bleed both lines numerous times until just fluid came out. It stops but not that great. Does anybody have any ideas what would fix this problem?

Check the entire system for leaks...even a tiny leak on one of the connections will cause the spongy feeling...just got through doing mine and discovered two loose or misfitting connections...

I found one leak at the splitter connector...just barely pushing fluid out around the line...and that took quite a bit of effort to find because there wasn't that much fluid leaking...

Check everything for for wear, too. Drums will tend to give you sponge pretty fast if they're worn out.

You can check the master cylinder by pinching off the lines and giving the pedal a fade test. Then go through all the lines with a helper slowly pumping it as you go along to check every single fitting. It's probably wise to just check and make sure they're tight regardless.

Tried checking the rear brakes but can't get the drums off......and yes the e-brake was off. There is a sh%$ load of rust on. I'm ready to give up and just deal with the mushy pedal.

did you try to adjust the rear brakes? bleed all 4 wheels. did you just do a brake job or something? it it just got spongy out of nowhere, i would suspect a leak.
