The second Ranger I've liked, since I did in my last one.

Not much more, he put new tires on it, and did some other minor work to it, and he bought it for $2000, so with tires and parts and such, I'm not going to be getting it any lower then $2400, unless theres something major that I pick out on the safety inspection. (He's doing what I'm going to be doing with the Dakota, putting a high price so i can get a higher offer on it, I paid $1000 for it, did a little bit of work, I'll sell it for $2500 OBO, if it goes for $1500 I still made profit, if it goes for $2000, bonus, and if someone actually pays me $2500, then sweet deal.

I Want It!!!!! Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie!!!!!!!

Is that a stock colour blue? I want to paint my truck again(kind of need too eventually) and im looking at colours, i really like the dark blues.

now that is a nice lookin ranger....good luck!! hope it is as nice on the inside as it is on the outside!!!

Well, i picked the truck up tonight, to do a safety inspection on it tomorrow morning to see if I'm going to buy it or not. How it seems so far, most of what is needed is a quick fix, aside from the oil leaks and exhaust leaks (easy fix, just a little bit time consuming). What I know it needs is as follows

Cons
-A pillar trim - both driver and passenger sides
-Sunroof seal
-Rear cab light seal
-Headliner (water damage from sunroof and cab light leaking)
-There is a crack in the middle of the dashboard from the center vent to the defrost vents
-The A/C does not work (considering Calgary is 8 months winter, generally, I never used A/C when my Caravelle had it).
-The engine needs to be shampooed and then retested to see where all the leaks are coming from, who knows, if I'm lucky, a bottle of Lucas oil might solve my problems, its helped me in the past
-The exhaust has a hole somewhere, and a part of the pipe has been replaced, I don't know where its leaking from as of yet, but I can find out tomorrow morning, and depending on where its leaking, I might make a custom exhaust if its cheaper to do so.
-There is a brake pulsation
-The park brake cables are seized, apparently
-Sat in a field for a year
-After market CD player is broken (I'll pull my CD player out of my Dakota)
-Does not have enough box room to fit my tool box that was an exact fit in my long box Ranger
Pros
-4L with only 156000km
-5 speed manual (2WD) (does anyone know what transmission this is, is it still the M5OD?)
-Extended cab
-Sunroof (after its leak is permanently fixed and not just siliconed)
-Body is in very good condition, a little bit of cancer over the right rear wheel well.
-Very peppy, and runs extremely well for sitting for a year.
-New tires
-Bucket seats with the 2 cup holder center console where the arm rest isn't broken.
-Cruse control, and yes, it works
If All pans out on the safety inspection and nothing stupid comes up (like ever steering component and bearing needs replacing as well as axle seals and all the brakes), then Its very likely I'll be in another Ranger, sooner then later.

I can sell a 1991 Dakota that will soon be needing a transmission and it has 255000km on it for $3000, The guy bought the truck for $2000 and put some tires and a few other small things into it, I'm probably going to offer $2400 for it, but thats going to be the low he will go without losing money off of it, I'll see how things go. Also, the expencive to replace parts of what is wrong with it, can be picked up at Pick'n'Pull for cheap. And I don't need A/C.

Good luck. I hope it all works out good.

with all those problems I wouldn't pay more that $1500 for it.

I wouldn't either, but the market down here in the middle of the states is probably different than up there in Canada. Down here for that old of a truck and $3000 it had better be cherry, evidently it is different up there.

It probably needs a oil pan gasket, my 4.0l leaks too and thats what the problem is, found that out when I went to change my rear main..and yes its got an M5OD, along with an 8.8 28-spline rear.

Needed, the simple list

Front brakes - everything but lines and hoses
Rear brakes - everything but lines and hoses
Full blown tuneup - factory everything, enough said
Exhaust - from the Y-pipe back, including hangers
Oil leaks - Valve covers had a steady stream of oil, oil pan was leaking, shampoo was needed to see the rest
Cab seals - sunroof, rear cab light

Those are the big things, and even with my parts discounts (up to 50% off of list price) it was still going to total over a grand. Plus the day or two, or three to install everything, it wasn't going to be worth my time, plus then theres the trim and other things that would need doing, and so on. I decided against the truck and the guy was very understanding about it. Believe it or not, he has heard of this site and he stops by every so often. He said he'd keep an eye out for another Ranger for me, as he lives on the opposite end of the city, just a few blocks south of a good friend of mine. I said I'd keep a look out for a Diesel for his truck that he wants to do the engine swap. I see this being the start of a friendship, who knows. Ford guys stick together generally. It was a no hard feelings sort of deal. Well, 2 down, lets see if 3's a charm (although 3 is an unlucky number for me).

meh I would have just offered him way less than he wanted, you probably won't come across another 2wd 5 spd extended cab 4.0l.
