The possibility of always finding the part you need?

Over at the Maverick thread, I asked Rusty ol Ranger what features he liked on new trucks that you don't get on old ones. He said parts availability among other things. The thing is, I believe we are just a few years away from never having this problem again.

The two of you have clearly never worked on newer vehicles.

Right now is especially bad. I am litterally having an easier time finding parts for my 1st gen RBVs than I am for stuff 2015-19.

They were having issues with some parts on the 2019 Rangers and parts before covid hit. Covid just made it worse for everybody.

That is everybody's excuse anyway. Things are slow getting out because of reduced staff. Shipping is nuts and all over the place because everybody is ordering crap online. And stuff from China is slow to restock because... why not?

My dad had a Lincoln Continental, ('97?). Hit a deer on the DS and busted the headlight housing. After several failed JY runs, because he could NOT get the part online, he retro-fitted some headlights from an old Toyota Cressida/Camry(?) into both sides and was very pleased with his results. I never got a pic of his MOD and he just scrapped the car after his transmission gave out 200 miles from home.

Im wanting to resurect mine at somepoint. But the marker lights are IMPOSSIBLE to find. I found a set on ebay for 645.75....yes...645.75. Theres a cracked one in canada for 145 bucks. Its ridiculious.
