traction chains (instead of bars, its a "pull" force, so why not?, seems to work!)
yes, those are "areostar" spec'd brake drums.

those are helper springs, unloaded the frame isnt touching them, about 250-300 ponds the frame settles onto the helpers. so it still has a decent ride when unloaded but has plenty of suspention when loaded.

...added pictures of my "traction chains", ive seen a video of a F250 with and without them, so im not the only one who has tried this.

Very nice and clean. Its exactly the same as mine, but a 4wd version.

Really nice truck. How does it do pulling your enclosed trailer there, I'm planning on getting a 95 and have it pull my framing trailer. Those chains help how? I'm curious how they work. Thanks

it pulls the trailer fine, but it does drop my fuel useage from 17 down to 12, cant use overdrive and the frontal area of the trailer is alot like dragging a parachute behind you. the chains act like a traction bar, preventing axle wrap and keeping the axle from twisting during acceleration when pulling, i can feel a differance when i change gears, before there was a jerk as the axle would go back after slightly twisting as id accelerate up through each gear, now it doesnt do that. if id had to do it over again, i think id have gotton a smaller trailer, or maybe a flatbed and tarp it up, it is nice though to be able to stand up inside the trailer and not hit your head, trailer weighs about 1,000 pounds empty, and below 45 id doesnt seem to be much of a load, but at 55 you can tell its working it hard. lower gears might help[, but since id have 2 sets of gears to change (4wd) i just live with it. the wifes S-blazer also gets used at times to tow with, and has a similar mpg drop. its got more horsepower but 3.42 gears, the ranger has 3.73's

one last snow for the year (maybe) was supposed to be 4-6 here but barely ground cover. one of my favorite spots for pictures, ground was wet under the snow and was intresting getting out.

really like my new wheels, kinda reminds me of the rims on nascar vehicles...

another picture took today, took it at about the same time as the photo above, something about the lighting was differnt, kinda neat....not sure why the differenmt sizes, used my phone, maybe i bumped a setting somehow...

a bright sunny sunday morning, just washed it and went to one of my favorite spots, was a little soft there, but it walked right in and out.

moving! took the cap off, might be off all summer, moving about 15 miles away, gonna be out in the country now.

...even moved my truck bedliner garden, "if youve ever moved a garden, you might be...."

some things i like about having the cap off, as long as its not raining that is. probly leave it off most of the summer.

i like everything about your truck but the running boards

the tube steps might be coming off soon, my daughter was really little when they were put on. they are starting to get rough and have about outlived their usefullness.
