the "green machine" '93 4.0 4x4

working out at the farm, pulling a wagonload of brush back through a field to drop off at the edge of the treeline. have had the back end packed full of firewood a couple of times now.

the latest pic, 8/29. out behind the barn, im thinking of painting the rims on this, love the look, but unless your up close, they just look like black rims , nothing special. not sure if i want silver, grey or john deere yellow, maybe even a gold since the green on my truck isnt a bright green like john deere uses, i just painted my winter wheels, probly wont put them on until late october, went with the standard silver/clearcoat on them-the centers are the same green as the truck.

1/2 mile from the house, scouting out fallen trees for a later firewood run, where im parked is usually a wet area, been kind of dry this year.

Whats new? Side boards!

Back glass in my cap broke this weekend, been a pain sometimes having the cap on, so i decided its time for stake sides!, quick and easy and i can fit more wood than with the ranger bed alone....

It's a warn trans4mer bar, got it through a advance auto auto parts store about 12 years ago. Truck is now gone but I did keep the grille guard. I'll have to post my final pictures of "the green machine". I really loved that truck, but it was time for it to go, frame was twisted about 5 years ago teaching my daughter how to drive a manual transmission. Then a month ago I discoverd a bad rust through the passenger side frame behind the coil support tower. Was going to go ahead and drive it one last winter but litterly 2 days later the seal went out of the power steering box. Got $800 out of it. Hoping to get another ranger, seem to be tough to find, the good ones are pricey and the ones I find that I can afford are rust buckets. I'll have another someday, hopefully another 4X supercab manual trans. I did keep about all of my add ons, weather i'll be able to use them on a newer ranger is hard to tell.

The rust hole, passenger side, just to the rear of the coil support.

... Not to long after i brought it home, 2003, 10 years old, 60,000 miles

And the "final" pic, 12 years later, 182,700 miles.

Short video clip of it leaving my driveway, at least it left under its own power, motor was still good, still could get nearly 20 mpg on the highway, a/c still worked. Time to find "the next" one.
