The Abaddon update

Well, the foam idea didn't work, sadly. So, found a center console at the local scrapyard front a 91 explorer. Some leveling on the transmission tunnel, fits just about perfectly! After several hours of cleaning off spilled pop, coffee, and God only knows what else, I wrapped it in the carbon fiber vinyl wrap I'm using to redo the interior, and lo and behold, it turned out pretty cool. Now to rethink the boot and secure it well around the shifter....

This sounds really interesting. Please take lots of pics of the process.
PS, you should look at your spelling before posting, I think you may have fat fingers... :)
Actually, the buttons are too close together on the phone :))

Been delayed and a bit negligent on updates. I have gotten the interior pretty much refinished. Most of the trim pieces were busted. Sound system is rotally redone, and for less than $150.
Sorry i have negected on the images, but time out had to be takn to move. I was concerned, but the old thing made it, pulling 2500 pounds of filled trailer 1200 miles...

But now, a new dilemma... looks like i need a motor rebuild, its starting to burn oil... wondering if i shoukd stay with the 2.3 or upgrade. Suggestions?

Upgrading is a whole process and will involve a different transmission and such... If you can do the work a simple re ring and bearing job would probably get you by for a long time, if you feel ambitious enough a bit of cleanup on the intake ports in the head should help power some

Appreciate that, but the thing is pushing a half million miles. Definitely top of 400k, at least. Since the ac was ripped out before i got it, the intake is no where near oem, and it looks like some patching was done on various parts with JB Weld (including the exhaust manifold AND head) and that sometimes it just seems "tired", maybe a direct swap would be best. Then i know im good for another quarter million, at least. i will dig around and ask where the best deal can be found for a reman or possibly new complete motor with all the trimmings...

So, here are a few pics of it now. Looks way better than the POS i started with back in April.
