Street Rod Ranger

a dusk mask?! omg man...charcoal respirators are $20 and will do a fine job...fresh air is nice, but a charcoal will be just fine for doing little stuff now and then (though many pro painters don't even use fresh air)

Anywho, frame looks really good.

I would have bought a respirator if I could have. I painted it on Christmas day, so any place that would sell that kinda stuff was closed. I mixed up my 2 part paint and noticed it was pretty stinky. I checked and the pot life was only 8 hrs, so I had no choice but to either spray it, or waste it. Since it was about $200 worth of paint, I decided to spray it.

seen this and thought of my 84 build...

I thought the very same thing when I saw it to be honest. Glad to see you finally made it here!

Good grief, I thought I was being original. I honestly had never seen your pictures when I did the black and gold chassis. I'm digging your big and littles. How long have you been working on yours? This is winter #3 for me.

dude that looks INSANE! i hope i can get my 302 swap done quick. yours is VERY nice man.

Everything is pretty self explanatory, except for maybe the pictures of the shaved drip rails. You wouldn't notice them if you weren't told. It ended up giving kind of a neat body line. The pearl doesn't show up in the pictures nearly as much as in person, although you can see it a bit in the 2nd and 3rd pics by the door latch area.

Very nice build so far . . .

Nice Looking Truck! I really dig the old skool look, I've always been a fan of the old Rat Rods and you did a good job with this one.

updates?

this thing is looking sick man! very nice

motor looks very clean, and i love the body line from the drip rails, really sweet man

bad ass build man. i love it. i wanted to do one very similar to it but i ended up with an explorer.

Wow, just came across this build. Great job so far! Keep the pics coming.

Nice truck. Patience isn't one of my virtues... I can't wait to see it finished. And, cherry pickers work so well for dropping a cab on the frame...

Sorry for the lack of updates. I haven't touched this project since winter. I don't have the time for it in the summer, so it just has to wait. I've already got 3 winters on it, and have a ways to go!

I would like to get the rear end assembled (8.8 w/ 3.73 gears, Detroit True-trac, 31 spline Moser axles, c-clip eliminators), so that I can fit the Slide-a-link traction bars, and get a custom driveshaft. I'd like to get the ball rolling on those longer lead time items so I don't have to wait on anything next winter. I wouldn't mind ordering shocks too, just can't decide if I want to go with an all-around shock, or 90/10 drag shocks.

Well, it's the time of year for some progress again. The rear is actually already under the truck, again, just forgot to take a picture of it on all 4 wheels again.
