Street Rod Ranger

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K21NypNQibo

It's finally driving on the street! I drove it 20 miles or so this weekend. It seemed to run better and better the more I drove it. Initially I was concerned it was flooding because the electric fuel pump was overcoming the needle and seat, but it seemed to stop that. still, I may end up adding a regulator to knock the pressure down a couple psi.

Conrad/ Mint design built the exhaust for me.

the welds on that exhaust are almost too good for a ranger. love the oem stance, and the f-series ranger emblems, actually everything. best built ranger.

beautiful truck! the dimpled exhaust pipes are interesting, never seem them before, is that just to change the sound of the exhaust?

Those are the chambered mufflers. Same design as the early DZ302 Z/28's and Boss 302's had. It has a much different sound than a typical turbo or glasspack muffler has.

Awesome build! You're definetly dedicated. I'm a little bummed though, since I thought I was the only one who ever thought of a "gasser" influenced Ranger build. Mines going to be more shop truck style and nowhere as restored as yours though. Very cool.

Here's a shot of my 14" E/T Super Streets with Hurst Racing cheaters. Not quite pie crusts, but close enough:

How is the traction on those pie crusts compared to a modern wrinkle wall cheater like ET Streets? I love the look of those 14s... makes me reconsider my choice of 15s!

For interest sake, I thought I'd toss on my 14x7 Supremes with Coker 5.20s. It looks silly, and can't find traction at all.

I wish I could tell you how good the traction is! The only test has been the anemic emissions equipped 302 that's in her now, and that's not much of a test. I do know the guys on the H.A.M.B. say they are real sticky when heated up, but that's all relative I guess.

After a couple seasons of ET Streets, I decided to put the 17's back on. It's kinda fun having no traction. Black stripes everywhere!
