Std Cab Longbed Comeback?

I would rather go the other way. 6' bed with a Supercrew :icon_twisted:
If Ford added 12" to new Ranger wheelbase, you could have the choice of SCrew with 6' bed or SCab with 7' bed as the extra length in the new Ranger bed is all between the cab and rear axle. It would make for very difficult decision for me... (But I'm not doing SCrew with 7' bed. )

What if they sold it as a cab on the chassis to upfitters...

Cargo boxes... flatbeds... utility boxes... camper shells... maybe even small dump beds...

Neat idea but does ford even currently offer anything in a cab/chassis model below an F450?

They didn't have a Bronco either...

A midsized offering would probably have a place. I don't know for sure... but I bet they sell them like that globally.

'250 for sure. I bet they do half tons too.

Only way to get a 31 spline 8.8 in a first Gen Ranger was cab Chassis... and I have seen exactly 0 on here.

Maybe they're doing this for the Orkin man...

Eew. That paint scheme is fugly. I hope they plan on selling it in colours other than that!

Any color you want as long as it is black and white dots. :icon_thumby:

Reg cab long bed is cool, but a reg cab short bed would be cooler!

let me see if I get this:

short/short is always cool. The cool rating goes up with the amount of lift and as the tires move outward and get bigger. As all this expands the truck gets less and less utilitarian. And with a 4wd, you get maximum wood.

short cab/long bed, standard suspension and tires yields the best use flexibility, but the appearance kills testosterone and the chick magnet won’t work adequately.

in between we have extended and crew cabs, flat beds and service bodies, racks and light bars, etc. this brings out the de Vincis and Michelangelos, and if the put it together right it rocks as a one off.

is that sorta it?

& let’s be careful with this thinking:

Ford list a cab/chassis Ranger in their body builder manual, so apparently you can order one.

That would be something I'd be interested in....even if they offered a 7 foot bed only on the super-cab model that would be fine too. The trouble is at what point do you say the hell with it and just buy a regular cab F150 4x4? The pricing couldn't be too far apart given the size of the current Ranger. The F150 though when properly equipped can tow almost twice as much as the Ranger so there's that point too.

The only truck I've had that wasn't a regular cab was my 08 Toyota Tundra, and honestly the back seat was a storage space 99% of the time, so completely pointless for anything I do now, a longer bed would be much more useful especially to add a cross bed toolbox...do that on a current Crew Cab Ranger and you have no bed left at all...as if there was one to begin with LOL. I think the extended cab Rangers do offer a 6 foot bed if I'm not mistaken though which isn't too terribly bad, but when you've had 6-1/2, 7 foot and 8 foot bed trucks all your life that's considered normal and how on earth do you work out of a truck with a 5 foot or shorter bed LOL.
