Starting my 1350 doubler this weekend

As for speedo cable one out of an 80's F150 will work perfect. That's what I currently run.

I have a 1" body lift and had no problems with clearance on mine.

Thanks. O'Reillys has one in stock for 16.99. I pick one up this weekend. Hoping to install the doubler this weekend. If I get that done then the only thing left to do will be driveshafts and a rear mount.

Tada, here it is!

It's installed in the truck now.

Here is where I made my cuts for clearance. I have a 1" body lift and it was hitting this brace and the heat shield for the muffler. The rear case is clocked almost flat.

Rear driveshaft at shop getting cut and balanced.

Things still to do: Transmission mount, speed-o cable, and shifter levers. Once these things are done I will have a new front driveshaft made. If you look at the one pic from the front it looks like I might have to modify the shifters to clear the front driveshaft. Will have to wait and see.

Looks good.

You might want to weld a piece of 1/4" strip down onto what's left of that crossmember to reinforce it some where you cut it.

good work

After looking at that one pic I was wondering if your driveshaft was gonna clear the shifters.

and it looks like your gonna have to modify that trans crossmember for driveshaft clearence.

maybe like this

p.s i really like your trans crossmember tied to the link mounts, thats sweet

thanks for the good writeups, i have a 93 that i am planning on doing sas and doubler at some point. the writeups on the site are helpful giving me ideas and how to's. i appreciate all the information.
doubler is a little intimidating but looks doable, getting the shaft made looks like the hardest part.

4x4Junkie I thought about welding some additional support in there also and probably will once I get everything finished. Then I can pull the doubler and weld the support and fix any other problems I come across trying to get it this thing finished.

Slammer67 the driveshaft looks like its going to be close but I'm not going to do anything but cross my fingers right now. Once I get the driveshaft lengthen then I will see what I have. If it does contact I will probably just use some heat and bend them outta the way. Will let you know once finished. As for the transmission crossmember it looks like it will clear when eyeballing it. The trans mount is part of the JD extended radius arms.

Carchameleon thanks. I will also post more pics of the shifts once I get them finished. I was nervous about doing this myself but once I tore the 1350 apart it was much easier than I thought. Nothing to it really.
