Speedo drive gear

Damaged my speedo gear. Need to replace it. I have a 74' C4. Will the green gear I damaged be the right gear to get my speed accurate? And is the junkyard the only place to get them from? Thanks.

i had to buy one for my ranger and i got it from online i just googled speedometer gear and several came up

You can still them from Ford. They arent expensive at all. I bought two trying to get my speedo dialed in and im cheap.

As far as I know they are color coded. So if you get the right color gear from the same year it SHOULD be the right one.

That I'm not 100% sure about. Are you replacing the tranny with an identical one?

No, replaced with a C4 from a 74 Montego

Hmm, bigger problem. Bought one off the Internet, came in the mail. Installed it and my speedometer isn't working. We're do I begin to diagnos this problem?
