My credo
i think i have some truck on my rust
i'm planning a supercharged sohc swap into my 1991 4.0 ohv soon, (with a tune, injector and MAF upgrade to boot so i can run approx 10 psi of boost.) anyone got some other recommendations/ mods they've done to their sohc that they would advise? looking at headers, (and pretty much a complete exhaust), didn't find much of anything for cams aside from the v6 mustang ones but i still want low end toque so that's out really. obviously going to have a wicked intake system so no need for that, and also planning a high pressure oil pump. anything else you guys can think of? thanks!
edit* almost no budgetary concerns but cheaper is gonna be better

Pistons and rods, arp head studs.

There were some shorty headers out there for the SOHC in the past. I don't know if they are still out there or not.

I know a few people were looking at an M90 supercharger but I can't remember if any one has installed one.

Looking at my engine bay, I don't think a turbo is a reasonable option without a lot of removing or moving stuff.

yeah its gonna be an eaton m90, with the moddbox kit.

You may want to consider methanol injection running at 10 psi. Modbox has the port already there for ya!

what does that denote? I'm unfamiliar with the term but if its doable and obviously already available with the kit then id like to know as much as i can about it.

Prevents predetonation. The stock compression ratio on the 4.0 is fairly high, I think over 9:1.
Although you may not need it if you dished pistons and such to lower the CR.

Give Super Six Motorsports a call, and Tom Morrana, if he’s still alive.

They both specialize in making high power ford 6 cylinders.
