Not to thread jack or anything but does your Chambers still have all of the pots for the thermowell and the cap for the pilot light on top of the stove? I' been looking for replacement parts for mine after we got it from my grandmothers house.

Yes we got almost everything for the well steamer pots quarter pots ect...
We are missing the little pins that hold the flash tubes in place for two pilots...I'll make those or buy them from Ebay...

OK... I've researched shock for the back and looked in Books and Computers. I opted for Gabriel's Ultra /G-Force G63441.. it wasn't like I had many choices really.
I also started my Side Pipes too.... I'll get some Pic's tomorrow!

The '93 had some sort of white Gabriel's on it, they we pretty beat up but looked like a really nice shock back in their glory days.

Well these are listed for 3-4 inches of lift,,,I don't think so
They are 4 inches longer than stock.
But I needed shocks anyways.

They did give me a extra inch of lift I wasn't expecting, But Like I said the old shock were racked out and the springs were in constant tension against the shocks.

I'll get some boots to cover the tops of the shocks next week.

The original paint on the NEW grill is scratching off so I will end up painting it. When I bought the grill I wanted a Black one but the Argent was so much cheaper. We'll see what I do I'm kinda digging the thought of getting a Chrome grill and blacking out everything but the chrome.

Thanks guy's ..It's going to be a rainy few days so Nothing new is happing.

So I'm looking the bed over to start work on it..I really need my truck to haul parts with.
998001217022.jpg

I'm looking at rust holes above the wheel wells.
Big dents and creases...

The bottom of the bed is a flaky cake of rust as well.

I tried to pull some dents out with a board, Some time last year I took a sledge hammer to pull the dents out of the wheel wells.

So I'm on the hunt for a bed to reduce the amount of work I need to do after all I'll be painting it , doing bed liner and flaring the fenders.
I hope to land a bed off a extended cab with a short box with 2 gas tank doors.
Heres a look at my light bar/base mount for the ladder rack/spare tire mount.

Needs welded together, sanded and painted.

PS: People clean the friggin leaves out of your bed once in a while...

The bed works...but I prefer a better one! and hope for the second gas door as well.
I dug up some old junk to turn into new parts.

Remember those old rims, the red ones that made the vision for the Shop Truck?
The center lines are Cool but not practical for a work truck. But the big and littles look sooooo Cool. I love looking down the side of the truck and seeing the big tires

You just and do this with the 6 inch wide Steal rims... But with out the rims you don't get the hubcaps...dam!
So a Old school Shop Truck needs some old school wheels.
I"m starting off with a pair of old Chrome Smoothies from the junk pile, They have a large truck pattern and no tabs for the hubcaps and the chrome is flaking off.

The width is 8 inches as apposed to the 6 inch wide steel rims or the 10 inch wide Centerlines.

The limits of the 6 inch wide rim was great and tire size was a issue. but a few more inches would open up a larger selection of tires. The only thing that I would think that would be better is a 10 wide rim.
So My Plan is to swap hoops and make my own rims for the back.

With rims widen I also plan on flaring the bed to tuck the meats under the metal.
I plan on doing that today on the old bed. So More to come.

I always thougt all the Rangers that had dual tanks were long WB?? I never seen a short with Duals...

I could be wrong but I had measured my bed and had a friend in another town do the same..so I'm hoping to find one or I will improvise Vintage hot Rod fashion!
Yesterday I had to put the bed back on the truck do to work.
So before I put it back I figured I would try the fender flaring.
I took some measurements with a complex tool, the 2x4 I was using as a walking stick.

Then I got to use the bottle jack I bought 15 years ago for the first time.
I cut the inner fender and spread the quarter out to create the Fail side.

And Tack welded in a few struts to hold things in place.

Here's the profile view of those back tires again.

Since the rims on the truck are 10 inches wide and the ones that I'm building are 8 inches I think its a I'm improvement.
*NOTE: if you plan in flaring a bed like this understand if the bed is beat to hell like mine it looks a little odd since your stretching dents too...most look worse than before.
