Shop Truck

OK today it's time to put the booties on the shocks!!!
I've never had a lifted truck before so the shock covers are new to me.
A little surfing ebay and I also bought a few Bushings for the front end of the truck.

So in the pic is the red Shock boots, I beam pivot bushings and strut rod? bushings.

I just got back from Autozone and bought the front shocks and ordered the adjustable bushings to correct the camber after I lift the front with the spring spacers.

looks like axle beam pivot bushings on the right and radius arm bushings on the left

I've been following this build for a lil bit and just wondering if there have been any updates about cutting those rims?

OK.. lets get back on this.
I tore my Bicep (100% at the bone and 80% at the muscle) so I've been trying to take it easy .

Here the 8 inch wide gm truck wheel. Removing the center so I can get a little more personal with the grinding disc.

See more room to work!

PS: I had my son (in the photo) cut the center out, I just couldn't do it yet!

Bummer about the bicep, but I'm glad to see you getting back on your truck, I was wondering what had happen to the build.

Well when it rains it pours.
I thought it was raining mud on my windshield but it was oil...
OilSlick.jpg

That doesn't look like much but when I pulled over a block from where it started this is what I saw. And it was growing!

So it was nice to be far from home with limited tools a bum arm.
So I might need a motor soon.
But once I got home I had to cool off.. the best way to do that is to cut sh*t up!
Cuttinghoop.jpg

the rims have 4 bead of weld on them so I cut between them to make the work area even larger.

What blew up to make it spray oil everywhere????

Hopefully it's just a oil line or something simple, but look on the bright side, with all the oil every where, it's going to help with stopping rust.and it makes every thing look shinny for a little while.

Robert

yep broke the oil line lost 4 quarts and wiped a few lobes...Ah well...

FrankBoss

Picked up a couple 3/4 x10 bolts to lift the front 2 inches today.

A seal for the cam replacement and a few cam followers.

I need to locate some more body parts and another wheel.

FrankBoss

OK! as I get the strength I'm cutting out these little pieces. So far this is very time consuming, cutting and trying not to gouge the rim hoop.

After all of these are removed I'll gently grind and file the weld beads down.

Its about time to update your parts list. What all do you need now?

I bought myself a Dad's Day present...

It's a 78 302 with a C4 w/extra small bell housing. "Mustang II"

The engine might be junk but if it's not it will be a good heavy block to work with.

I'm still on the prowl for a 8.8 with a 3:73 or 4:10.
Wing windows for the doors.
and 2-3 more steel 15 inch rims like this
