Shift Rail Plugs

I was going to replace the plugs with the metal ones but they are not leaking. Should I do it anyway? Trans has 260,000 miles on it.

Meh. I ultra blacked the rubber ones in.

I also just clean up the old ones and skim coat in Permatex black Right Stuff. Never had an issue.

I have 4 of these transmissions in my fleet and they total over 1 million million miles if that helps seal the deal.
