for my sas conversion i want to use coil springs in the front, i would like to get 10 inches of lift from them to.anybody know what type of springs will fit in the 99 frame coil buckets?

I don't think there is anything out there that will give you that much lift in a Ranger/BII diameter spring. 10" is pretty excessive anyway. If you switch to EB coil buckets then you might be able to get springs with that much lift but I would strongly advise against it.

your going to be hard pressed to get a setup to even work with your stock buckets at all. they are the goofy in the frame ones right?

yea i dont know what the hell ford was thinking when they designed that mess.
i was kind of thinking of welding a steel plate to the bottom of the bucket and then taking a narrow steel tube and welding that in for a coil bucket, what do you think?

My 99 does not have coil buckets (I have shock mounts if that helps)...am I missing something here?

Could of sworn you should have the torsion setup, but I've been wrong many times before.

What about using the coil buckets from the donor vehicle?

If I may, why 10" lift? Seems it would be a little shaky at that height.

they had 2 types of suspension.

i dont have a donor vehicle.

i want the bottom of my truck to be level with the top of my tires.

if you set everything up right it wont be shaky.

I don't know if there are differences between the TTB bucket and yours but, the TTB buckets and Skyjacker 7" EB coils equal about 10" on a SAS.

BTW If your gunna jack it up that high at least fill the well wells with a minimum of 35"s, not only would it look a whole lot better, but the bigger tires are heavier and with something that big you will need more mass down below.

Ok every time i read on here people always flip out when someone wants to use ttb springs for the sas springs.they say there way to stiff so you will have a rough ride.so if thats the case wont the 7in eb coils give me a stiff ass ride to?

i am gunu be switching to 35s i want the bigger tires.

when i was reading the sas thread they said my year ranger the best way to do a sas is to use leaf springs. if so what springs work best? and will i be able to get the flex out of leafs like i would coils?

O the reason i want the tires level with the bottom of my truck is because im planning on using a ford 9" in the front with to 60o steering so i dont want shit in my way to rub the tire.

TTB coils are stiffer than *almost* any solid axle coil because of a little science called statics.
EB had solid axles therefore I would expect them to be softer than a TTB coil.

Because you want to go so highhigh up I think TTB coils might be just fine for you. I dont think you have the budget/time to build something with a 10" lift that rides nice, the TTB coils stiffness will help you keep it rubber side down.
