I am no suspension expert. I just know why TTB coils are stiff, lol.

I would love to make helpful intelligent recommendations here but there is some guys are here that are much more knowledgeable on that stuff than I.

But, cause I can I'll throw in my $0.02.
If your rich: Some fox air shocks with 2 extra pairs of rancho 9000's per side. (three tubes per wheel, 1 fox, 2 ranchos)
If your not rich: Spend alot of time doing spring rate reaserch and hunt down a good dual rate coil, and put on one pair of ranchos on the front. (1 coil, 1 shock per side)

i thought air shocks had to have a compressor setup kinda like load bags? i do like the rich idea

As far as I understand it:
Air shocks are a spring and a shock all in one. They have oil and (HIGH PRESSURE) nitrogen which does the shockabsorbing and they have an (medium pressure) air chamber which acts as your spring. As far as I have learned you can set the air shocks and leave them, if you are hardcore and want to change them when you are out and about then you need onboard air. Again, I am no expert on them, I could easily be wrong.

so with the air shocks i dont need leaf or coil springs right? i love that idea.

How did that early 90s saying go? Correcto-mund-O. Just look at scooters rig.

If I lived in rock crawling country I would be building a suzuki on toyota axles, stretched WB, with air shocks on all 4 corners.

thanks buddy i appreciate it. i talked to a spring place in phoenix and he told me to come by on Tuesday and will find out what springs i should use and all the detailed info.

O the reason i want the tires level with the bottom of my truck is because im planning on using a ford 9" in the front with to 60o steering so i dont want shit in my way to rub the tire.

This doesn't make any sense. What company are you planning on buying your 609 from? Cause I'm gonna take a stab at it and say from your posts that your not going to be building one your self.

im going to buy a a dana 44 front end and rebuild it with ford 9in 60o steering knuckles from spidertrax. so besides the knuckles yea im rebuilding the whole thing. thats why i need coils, coil overs, air shocks because leaf springs get in the way.

also does anyone know if a bw1350 will bolt up to my 4r44e trans ( 1999 )

SO, here's my two cents to add to the pile...

-I have 10"s of lift
-It rides damn good
-It's as stable as a stock truck with no swaybars ( I don't run any)
-I'm running heavy as F*ck 35's....

I run 7" Skyjacker early bronco coils, and a stock length solid axle radius arm setup. I'm running the 5.5" Chevy leafs in the rear with a single shock per corner and I have to say I like the ride better then the stock TTB.

I'd suggest running the same setup on your truck as it is a farily simple design and is very reliable.

Here's approx. 8.5-9 inches of lift given the load on the truck. It sits probably 1.5"F/3"R higher with no load.

love the truck.

about how much did it cost you?

also whats the steering like, sharp or turn like a aircraft carrier?

What? What is a Ford 9" 60o steering knuckle? Im not sure you should be tackling this project, based on your thread responses.

you will need a 4wd tailhousing to bolt any ranger tcase to your tranny (unless you run divorced but thats a whole other can of worms) , but I wouldn't recomend using a 1350 . Get a manual 1354.
