sas coil spring questions

yea dude i have a 3 point slow thats way to much rotating weight and truck weight. i do want to get 15mpg not 10. i'm going to see about changing out my inst. panel with one that has a mechanical speedometer and run a cable to the transfer case, then get ride of the bullshit abs if i can. you don't need that shit in so cal anyway.

You wont notice a difference between a D60 and a 10.25

your not gonna get 15 mpg with how u want it setup its a fact of life.....with that 3.0 anyways.....

and carefull what u say about people's trucks on here, money is a concern of some people on here, i know my truck is a total budget build, ive got mine built solid for less then ur talkin to get your front steering done, and that includes the 5.0 and 4spd swap.....

i just saying i don't want to put 350lb axles on when i don't need them. not downing peoples money,I'm not rich i just would rather spend the money and have a professional job and not a slap together job. im a perfectionist so it has to look perfect some people aren't and what they have works for them just not for me.im ditching the steering knuckles for now when i completely finish everything else i will then see into doing 50o steering. im not looking into a v-8 i have a nice ass hemi dodge i dont care for another v-8 truck.

ok heres what i got in mind for my lift. skyjacker 7in eb coil springs from early bronco for the front with custom front links, pro comp chevy 5.5in rear leaf springs and custom shackles, rancho 9000's all the way around.i might as well go with a sterling 10.25 rear end so i dont have to worry about breaking axles and machining a new exciter ring and a dana 60 up front.bw 1354 x-fer case, and 35 inch tires.if i want it alittle higher i will go with a body lift as much as i hate them. as for the steering i will go with a chevy 1 ton steering box with the cross over steering. also gunu switch to a 1 ton booster and master cylinder with ssbc 6 piston calipers. what else should i need or is that it?

Adapters are about $150 a piece, maybe a little less....Try and push the axle forward when you mount everything up. If you can go 2-3"s forward you can tuck a lot bigger tire with a lot less lift.

hey thanks i will put that into consideration.

Skip the skyjacker EB coils... Get some real ones from either Cage, Wildhorses,
Toms, Jeffs, or James Duff

Skyjacker is a good choice for Ranger stuff, but I can't think of a single person that runs their EB stuff with all nice springs the EB vendors sell

hey thanks norcalbronco i wanted a progressive spring.

Not sure which axles you are referring to, as a D60 is closer to 500lbs, and a GM 14FF is almost 600lbs.

My Chevy was/is built on an extremely tight budget, but it's still more bling than most are. It can be done, but only if you do your research and plan your build, then build your plan. It sounds like you have a fair bit of planning and research left to do.:icon_thumby:

A 10.25 shouldnt be that expensive. It was used in pretty much every 3/4 and 1 ton Ford truck in the 90's with the best being the 93-98 axles.

yea i called a freind back in so cal who owns a recking yard and he has one from a 96 f350 srw. so he said i could have it if i cut the truck up when i get back so im gunu do that. if i dont its 250.

hows this extreme build coming?

dont bash other peoples rigs. you are asking them to help you.
im suprised people have given you as much info as they have.

true that. dont know what your trying to go for, bling or a setup that makes sense and is both durable and cost efficient. i bet my extremely tight budget rig will do anything your build will, if not i will come very close. im gonna follow this, see how it goes. my build took two months, on a broke budget.
