I have spoken with Jim about this so I'll go ahead and give more info. I edited my other post to correct the typo for the correct engine.
This bracket
is to mount any readily available GM Saginaw power steering pump to your factory steering box. It mounts in the factory location and even uses the factory belt. As you can see, you can retain factory A/C also.
We all know the Ford pumps suck. The Saginaw pumps have been swapped onto everything for years because they work well, can be rebuilt, and let's face it, you can get one at the junkyard for $10. O'reilly has them for $49 for reman with lifetime warranty.
I worked on this idea for quite some time because the other pumps are no longer manufactured. This bracket will put a new, quieter, more powerful pump into your factory location. You can run it stock or with a quick search on Pirate 4x4 you can turn it into a hi-flow, hi-pressure pump capable of running hydro assist or full hydraulic steering.
Right now I'm shooting for about $90 for the bracket by itself with a complete, turn key setup consisting of bracket, pump, pulley, and hose for around $225. This is a rough estimate and could go up or (hopefully) down. The more orders I can get at once, the better the prices will be. I'm shooting for 10 orders to get started. I've got 4 maybe 5. To go through with a group buy I'll need all 10 orders placed with cash up front.
PM me if you need more info.
