?s about wiring my system

i think im going to go home and have a beer and then sit down and check every wire with my multimeter and verify what i have going on. ive been thinking about it so much today that its got me stressed out (i cant stand it when something doesnt work properly) so i just need to verify that all my cables have continuity from one end to the other, verify my grounds are resistance free, verify the voltage of the remote wire at the hu and then at each amplifier, have another beer, then if it still doesnt work ill at least run the door speaker wires and then call it a night.

so this could be a reallly bad time to bring this up....... and so sorry for not bringin it up. didnt think i had to....... is your remote wire running next to your power wire by any chance??????? you auto turn on amps couldddddd be from EMI. having said that. your power wire should be ran all by its self. everything else can be ran together. but there is so much EMF thur that wire it can jump to others. and give you fantom sounds, amps staying on and allll sorts of other WTFs but start small and KISS. remove the relay and test and run your tests. before you go and rerun the power wire.

EMI isnt always an issue..... lost of times its all ok. but after checking and rechecking and alot of WTF's its been know to be the Issue

i found the problem, i feel like an idiot now. i had 1 amp wired backwards (positive and negative reversed, blown fuse was the give away), so once i fixed that and removed the relay completely i was able to get them to turn on and off with the HUs operation. i also managed to get the speaker wires for the door speakers ran and got my speakers fitted into the doors, so now i just need to tie all my wires up on the amp board and put terminals on the speaker wires so i can plug into my speakers. im figuring i should be done by monday if i keep working on it all night like i have been (i was out in the garage until 2am last night, had to work at 8). heres some pics:

Awesome, did ya get some finished shots??

heres the shots, i like how it turned out (except for the soldering iron burn the bck board accidentally got). the bass isnt overly loud and it fills in the lows nicely. im going to run these pyramids for a while until i get used to them and then either poly fill the boxes or buy new subs to see how much of a change i notice.

Great job, looks good!!! Enjoy it as upgrades always come, because its never enough!!

ive only been driving around for 2 days with it and i already want to get some new subs! luckily for my wallet, the way i made the boxes out of the jump seats ill be limited to 8" subs (thats as large as the jump seat can accomodate) and the depth of the box limits me to a small range of 8"s which all carry the same basic power ratings and dimensions of what i already have, so i figure if i just buy some quality subs ill get much better sound. (im still kickin around the idea of these t4508-04 mtxs http://www.crutchfield.com/S-05VykksWYeB/p_236T4508/MTX-Thunder4500-T4508-04.html)

you can go a lil bigger just add some poly foam

how much / how dense should i make it when i add the polyfill? should it be light and fluffy so that it just takes up the empty air space or should it be packed in tightly?

the theroy is 1-1.75 bls per cub foot.

keep it fluffyish. and start with covering the walls in your box then add a lil if you need to adjust the sound.

when you say "covering the walls" do you mean glueing strips to the walls or just cutting a piece as long as all 4 sides and then pusing it to the outside of the box? sorry for the noob questions but i cant seem to find any articles online that clearly explain it.

eather or it doesnt matter. just stops it from moving around and not piling up in the bottom.
