?s about wiring my system

that last distribution block is bad as hell lookin!... too bad its not a 1 in 3 out. i was understanding you correctly on the 1 into 4 distribution block, i just couldnt find any that fit my wire sizes ( i kept finding 1-4ga into 4-8ga blocks, but i couldnt find any that would hold my 2ga without over shooting the wire size and going with a 1/0 or a 2/0). i went to radio shack on my lunch break and looked at their rca cables they had on the shelf (they were too busy to talk to me, so i couldnt ask if that was all they had or if they were hiding the good stuff in back), they looked like the cables i used to hook up my dvd player, minus the yellow, so i decided to pass on them. im going to try the radio shack on the other side of town after work and see if they have nicer cables (ive been told they have a better store than the one i went to). i did find some extra money to get this done so im pushing to make it happen, i even took bottles back to get that little extra!

im going to order this http://www.tti-plus.com/Bluewave-Audio-Platinum-AGU-3-Fuse-Distribution-Bl-p/bwa-dbs2.htm tonight if i dont find anything at radio shack (i doubt they will have anything as nice for the price), then ill wire everything up and install this when it arrives and it should be fully functional! i may not be back on TRS until tuesday, but ill try to check in and update with pics as i make trips up to work for more materials ( i have dial up out in the country so i dont even attempt to get online unless i have time to waste). thanks for all your help guys!

so i went to radio shack after work... that was a waste of gas! thank you 4x4fun for turning me onto tti-plus.com, i just put in a $50 order (including shipping!) for the following items

i got the inline fuse holder because it was so cheap and i also ordered a couple different ANL fuses ( 80A, and 100A) instead of using the resettable circuit breaker. this way i can keep the budget low until i find out what amperage i should be running (ill know if i need more amperage protection if i blow them right?), then i may invest in one down the road(im running out of room under the hood to put things!). so it looks like ill at least be mounting up the amps and getting the new speakers mounted up, then ill just have to wait for my shipment to arrive before i can wire every thing (does this place usually ship pretty fast?). oh yeah, whats you opinion on the RCA cables with the remote wire in them? i bought them because they were only a few cents more and would make the job that much cleaner and easier, and even if they werent a good idea i could just run separate remote wires to each amp and not use the ones in the rca cables?

There are differences in opinion for using the remote wire with the signal wires (RCA's)...The remote does not carry a large amount of current, so it will not introduce RF interference and is ok to use...Make sure to take pics of your autosound build:icon_thumby:

x2

i always run the rca and remote wire together anyway. its a hand thing to use but we get the wire on big spools so i dont use it.

shipping is pretty good, as far as just putting in a bigger fuse........80 should be pleanty. but if you blow one make sure there isnt anything wrong before you put in the 100. but with the fuse dis block. i would run exactly what the amp is.

so if you run into an issue you use the block to trouble shoot. IE if you pop an 80 you pop the 20's to an amp it will tell you were to start looking

but if you blow one make sure there isnt anything wrong before you put in the 100...

Yeah, but those ANL fuses get pricey quick once you start blowing them, thats why its personal preferance that I use circuit breakers, but each to his own...Glad you got your gear ordered, now get it done and take those pics already:D:icon_thumby:

well i got started in it yesterday, so here are the pics from day 1. i ran my power wire from the battery to the back of the cab (i still dont know where im going to put my inline fuse of circuit breaker since im out of room around the battery), i installed the rear speakers which required me to drill 2 new holes in both mounts since the new speakers dont have the same mounting configuration, and i cut the plywood for the back wall and secured it in place with liquid nails. heres the pics:

everything looks well planned out and well fabbed/what not... good luck man it looks nice

just checking in, things are on schedule (on my end anyways, TTI still hasnt shipped yet) and ive got a lot of pics to upload when i get a chance. the amps are mounted and the power and ground wires are ran and i also got my boxes built today. my subs dont have any specs on sealed box volume (yeah, theyre that cheap!) so i went with the largest box i could make (large is an understatement) and it ended up being .127 cubic feet, so hopefully it sounds ok and wasnt a waste of my time. ill check back when i get my pics loaded and you can all feast your eyes upon what youve helped me accomplish!

Sounds good...I hope you don't have to take out your seats just to get that big box in like I had to with mine:icon_rofl:Keep up the good work and keep those pics coming:icon_thumby:

I'm glad to see you used MDF, I got scared when I seen the cardboard taped together:icon_surprised: Looks great so far!! Where are you going to mount your distribution/ground blocks?? Keep up the great work
