Roof leak

Featured Build Threads

The loop of the roof that goes over the top of the A pillar is just sitting there and sealed with seam sealer... I've pulled the roof skin of my '90 before... with all of this being shown I bet the gutter just has a leak or the seam at the top of the A pillar on mine.

I found the link to what I was talking about:

If I looked straight at it, I could see the back of the headliner through that hole on both sides.

First of all thanks for all of this but I have to tell you that I’m not recognizing any of this here but it’s probably just me. My rain gutters are open at both front and the back with no curve to them as illustrated here.

The roof panel is spot-welded onto the door frame panels within the gutters. Body seam sealer is then used to seal where the two panels are spot-welded together. I forget exactly how it all connects into the windshield frame area, but I would expect all of it to have been originally sealed with seam sealer.
Good info, thanks.
