I found a vacuum leak, but I dont think that this had a washer originally. Any ideas on if this is my issue, and how to fix?
My purge valve has some suction when running, but it is weak.
I dont think this is the line leaking, btw. New line.

Code P1443: EVAP Canister Purge Flow Fault

    • What it means: The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects an incorrect flow rate or a blockage/leak in the vacuum path between the charcoal canister and the intake manifold. [1, 2]
    • Common Causes:
      • A stuck-open or stuck-closed canister purge valve / solenoid.
      • Cracks, dry rot, or disconnections in the vacuum and vapor hoses near the purge assembly (located near the front driver's side / behind the headlight).
      • A faulty purge flow (PF) sensor.
      • A loose or damaged gas cap or cracked fuel filler neck. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
    • How to Fix: Inspect and replace the purge valve assembly or cracked vacuum lines, and verify the gas cap seals tightly
On a 1997 Ford Ranger, P1443 is an Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Control System purge flow fault, and P1071 (frequently a typo or scanner misread for P0171) indicates a System Too Lean (Bank 1) condition. In many cases, the EVAP leak causes unmetered air to enter the system, which directly triggers the lean condition.

Thanks Franklin. I took the bracket out of the loop entirely and just ran rubber line all the way. The leak is gone, but I'm getting P1445 now, so I'll be replacing the purge flow sensor now.
