whats the max revs u can get from a 3.0, ion other words, when does the rev limiter comes in?? its a 2000 3.0
thanks:icon_thumby:

it will bang out around 5500 on my 93, if its an auto it wont let it go past 5500 (mine wouldnt at least). my a4ld had a tranny limiter, first floored would go to 52, 2nd would go to 75, 3rd was the limiter tapping OD on the shift bezel (speedo only reads 85), was told it was 109. the engine will bang out and will never shift to 4th gear unless you back off the throttle and cruise, you then lose some speed. this is stock trim wfo for 23 seconds in my modded form, basically no a/c (cut it out) HAI and high flow cat/super44. my trk was 4wd, dont know if that makes any dif.

i have a 2004 ranger edge 3.0 and i had put a custom exhaust on it and when i rev it up for my buddies my limiter kicks in at 3000 rpm. ive looked into finding out how to bypass it, but it doesnt really seem like anyone has any info on it.

Is this in Nuetral? Because I know for sure your truck is not limited at 3k rpm's...

Also, you really don't need to go around changing your rev limiter... Ford engineers put it at a certain RPM for a reason... Your engine was tested and proven to run there for extended periods without disassembling itself... You can have a tuner change it if you want, but you might end up with a hole in your engine block...

I have a 2005 XL. My programmer was set for something around 5600. I understand from from some references that you shouldn't take the 3.0 over 5800 with stock valve springs. Apparently the 3.0 can be pushed harder with dual spring replacement. I haven't tried to do that yet, but right now I'm pleased with my conversion so far.

My 04 4.0L would not rev over 3k or something like that when it was in neutral until I reprogrammed it with my flashpaq. Not sure what it is set at now, but as high as I have wanted to rev it it has gone.

i was w/ my buddy this morning and his 04 edge 3.0 2wd bangs out at 3k in neutral, but in gear running he can go all the way to 5600 in any gear (m50d stick).

Most new cars won't go past 3-4k in neutral... I didn't know it was like that with 5-speed cars too... Cool...

were all here to learn at times right? lol, i wont lie ive learned a LOT since ive been here.

I've had mine to 5100-5200 rpm's on mine in Park. It's completely stock, no tuner or anything.

yeah i want to know cuz my bros v6 doesnt has tach so we were wondering for the limiter when running in gear, not neutral, its a 5speed manual, wre were planning to swap my cluster with tach to his truck, and get some sport trac for mine, but its too expensive, and were are really short on cash for now, so we must take it easy :( .
the junker was asking like 42 us dollars for the cluster, now that he knows that i want it he asks 78 and can lower to 63, too much i think for a cluster, i must wait for the cash to come back so i can do this :D

My 2002 Edge kicks in at 3,000 when in park. I thought I had a big problem when i changed plugs and wires. Went out and replaced ignition coil. Took it for a ride and all was well. Anyone need an ignition coil?

My 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 2wd (5 speed Manual Transmission) is pretty much stock except for a catback dual exhaust system and 31 inch BF Goodwrich All Terrains, and i can get mine up to 5500 rpms in any gear, the thing is, my governor kicks in at 90 mph. Does anybody know how to take that off?

Yup, chip/programer or go to Europe and Ford will do it for you.......:icon_confused:
