If you are talking about the jack handle, I was taking about on a hydraulic bottle jack.Look under the hood of your truck, clipped to the rad support. I never used mine, but I assume it's long enough.
The one I believe you are talking about was only on the older Rangers. The newer ones have a sectional rod and the tire iron/crank handle that snaps together stored with the jack under a cover behind the seat. At least that is how the 1998 I had and my 2011. I never had an older Ranger. So I don’t know when at least some of the stuff moved from the engine compartment to the back of the cab.
With the new Rangers, the rods and tire iron/crank handle are under the seat and I believe the jack is behind the rear seat (I need to refresh my memory on that before I need it). At least with the Supercrew models.
