the truck has a leak in the brake line and we need to know where we can find a kit to repair the rear line.

Get a roll of brake line, bend it to fit and install it. There is no "repair kit".

best way is to figure out how long the piece you need is....from fitting to fitting, then buy a pre flared one at autozone or the likes of them. It alreayd has the fittings on it, just make sure you dont need to adapt them, (e.g. i think the valve block on the frame uses a bigger nut. The other way is to cut out the bad section of line and piece a new piece in using swagelok type fittings, also sold at auto zone. I like to replace the whole section.

Do NOT use compression fitting for brake lines, ever!

You MUST do proper double flares with flare nuts and unions if necessary.

heh...yea i never liked them. If you want to be all fancy and route the line just like the factory one you will have to buy a flaring tool to flare the custom cut length....Ive never had much luck with flaring (probably cheap tool's fault)

I think it depends on the type of compression fitting. I work for a company that makes pressure measuring and controlling instruments and we use compression fittings on pressure lines that see up to 10,000 psi on a daily basis. That's WAY more than brake lines would ever see. Swagelok, Hy-loc, Gyro-loc, Parker's A-lok fittings would be perfectly suitable because they all use double ferrules. If you're talking about some crappy single ferrule compression fitting like on the ice maker in your refrigerator, I couldn't agree more.
