remove headlamp switch

went to remove H/L switch. Ford shop manual says to pull switch to on position. then depress button to release knob and shaft. How in hell do you get to this little release button?? do you have to dissassemble the dash? the book makes it sound so simple. like this release button will jump out at you. am I overlooking something?? thanks to all. oh yes, this is on 87 B2.

You have to reach under the dash and if I remember correctly there is a button on the terminal side of the switch, kind of in the center, that you have to depress so you can get the switch knob and shaft clear.

Been a oong time since I did that though.
