84 ranger how to remove throttle cable?

Mine is starting to break. I have a replacement coming.
Can’t find anything on how to remove and reinstall a new one.

Pry it off the ball on the carb. I think there is a clamp out there somewhere also. Then get under the dash, I think I remember there was a screw on the inside that goes into the firewall to hold it. And then you have to unclip it from the gas pedal linkage. I had to change mine when I went from the 2.8 to the 2.9.

For mine it was pressure fit. With a clamp. No screws or any sort of hardware
