I know you r in Florida but 60-70 degree weather is not cold lol. Stop by Ohio where today there was frost on the ground and will probably warm up enough to not need a heater at all. Here lately we had rain for about 10 days and wind blowing like crazy. Pretty much every leaf fell off the trees all at once. lol.

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic. I have the same temps as he does right now and it is good shorts weather.

PJ... what do you use to spray on your trucks?

Fluid Film, it's a waxy greasy oily type of stuff. kind of like runny hand lotion. it doesn't harden, can creep into cracks like an oil. similar to LPS2. aerosol cans can be purchased at some of the parts stores. I had a shop spray the whole underside.

Having lived my entire life in the north... one would think I would have done this before.

I would like to preserve the 06 as much as I can... might have to look into this a bit more.

You feel the results are worth the expense?

The Advance here in town sells it in either 1/2 or 1 gallon cans too. I am thinking about getting a $10 HF spray gun and doing all the cars this year.

Is this the same stuff found on the frame when the truck is new from the factory? It sounds like it.

I hope so. for $140 it may delay the rust a year or so. $140 per year is a lot less than 12 payments.
apply the film every year before it snows.

I don't think so. this needs applied every year.

very similar to Crown treatment used in Canada, and a few other products.

Best get on DOT to get the roads salted.

In the off chance the roads do ice over, they use sand here in FL, not to melt the ice, just to add grip to it, I guess.
And that WAS sarcasm:icon_twisted:. I know 70's is mild in most cases, but it is 20 degrees cooler than last week, and that is as close to fall weather we will see here. Our winters are from Jan 1 to Feb 28, then it is spring from March 1 to May, then the other 7 months are all summer months.

Here they brine the streets before a storm and then spread a salt/sand mix during and after the storm so you have traction as it melts.
