Ranger44's build: Project FAZDA

I'm NOT. I will be looking for one for hire.

Please tell me you might know somebody, that knows somebody.......

or I'll have to go to Bode.....he might be a little $$$

I'll ask around, see if I can get to one for FREE or cheap at least.....like maybe some

I would imagine Richard might be able to hook you up. If not, have i introduced you to Phil?

I haven't introduced you to Phil?!?! holy eff! Consider his number PM'd

Get it PM'd then.... Lol

looking over some posts and talking to people, I've decided to go after some of the 'jeep' hubs. From my understanding the housing is made from a stronger material and the plastic bushing and bearing are replaced with a bronze piece. They are a bit stronger than stock D44 hubs, so no knuckle or spindle swaps as of yet.

I sent it again... Check your damned in box!!

Are you planning on bracing the rear of the skid plate at all? It doesnt take much just a muffler clamp and some more plate.

Are you running a 7.5 in the rear?

I like the build so far. At this rate you are going to have a black Mazda version of my truck.lol We just need to get you little more lift and some 35's. I may be selling the 33's if I can find 6" or 8" coils cheap enough, so if you want to get some big rubbers under there we could work something out.lol

I didn't like the thought of bracing the skid on aluminum. I just wanted to protect the diff right off the beam, you know, like when sliding the beam off something and that 'something' just hapens to be JUST tall enough to smack the aluminum housing. It'll be sturdy, I swear.....

I may be looking for 33's and a bunch of other stuff, I just need to improve my financial situation first. I don't have so many side jobs any longer.

And yeah, that's a 7,5 in the rear. It has 4.10's and a locker, so I'm running it till it breaks. 33's will be my max.

Went ahead and just had Bode cut that all out. He cut every single piece for $30 even. I mean everY piece. Like 30 pieces.

That's worth my time and $$ I would have put in wheels.

Things are gonna be slow till I pick up a better job or get some side jobs lined up.....so gonna be busy......especially since somebody has a couple 5 ton rocks rolling my way next weekend.....and wondering how I'm supposed to unload them.....lol.

I've talked to Adam about getting Richards engine hoist, he hasnt responded, try giving him a call. there might be a little motivation for you to handle the download. ;)

Geesh.....

I need to get some shit done. :icon_twisted:

Raining like a mo fo here. So not much has been done:

1). Lights. Yeah, re-thought the Hella's and decided not to go with them. I travel gravel roads, people say that lights get clipped in a hurry, and you have a cracked expensive light. SO, I went with cheapies I already had laying around that I can get for $20 a set......and a nice surprise......made in Germany.....hmmm. I may upgrade to a larger/bright bulb.

Mounted the switch like so......

Ran it all through a relay. Works good. :icon_thumby:

Then found a little trick upgrade for interior lighting.

There is a wire plugged into a dummy connector right above the slot for a glove compartment light. Has a green, and dark brown/black wire with a choc. brown connector. Snag a light from a vehicle equipped so, and push it into place, plug in. That simple.

Needs to stop raining and I need to stop working so much.....uhgg.

Got sick and tired of the wobbley wobbley of my mounted grille guard. So, I made up some brackets out of some 3/16 steel I had laying around. I can hang off it now.

You got the sickness, the addiction, I will bet you will want to go bigger than 33s eventually! :icon_hornsup:

yeah, but not until I can afford 4.88's or 5.13's, and trim the hell out of those fenders......lol

I think 32's or 33's are my max for now.

I'm missing the hell out of my old 108" (actually 107.9") wheel base. I remember me being able to turn on a dime.....you wouldn't think 125" is much more, but it makes a difference.......trust me. Not to mention a WAY better break over.

Thinking of looking for a good reg cab short bed like ol' red with a bad powertrain and swapping stuff over. Either a Ranger or B-series. Just gotta be a 93' or 94'.

Miss er'

Plus a REAL truck has a single cab...

Hell....I'd be really lucky to find somebody that wants extended cab and would be willing to trade cab and frames......but that's alot of work.
