Saturday and today's work.........
Cleaned up the chunk.......down to bare aluminum.
Then coated it with zinc enriched primer, regular primer, and then dark grey industrial enamel. Then baked.
Mishap with the original carrier.......did I ever say how much I FAWKING hate these roll pins?

Not sure how I accomplished it, but broke a punch off into the carrier, and now way in hell was it coming out....so of to the J-yard I go to make myself $25 less rich.
Luckily there was already an axle pulled and swiped the carrier with about 30 minutes worth of work.
New parts!
Ring was placed on the carrier at 80 ft/lbs with loctite, then lock-rite installed. Caps at 50 ft/lbs.
BYE BYE....you won't be missed......
Checked the pattern using grease (per Sasquatch_Ryda's adice), it was very even and right in the middle, so I'm worried about it less.
A "newer" Timken bearing was installed:
New Timken seals were also installed.
Also decided to sling some primer in prep for some pretty BLUE paint......
Going over to my Dads next Friday or Sunday to weld up reinforcement on the spare beams, and doctor up the cut buckets. I picked up 50 lbs of 1/8", 1/4", 3/16", and one strip of 1/2" plate for $25. Can't beat new steel for fifty cents a pound........

It'll be more than enough to do what I'm wanting.
