Ranger44's build: Project FAZDA

Electric T-case business.

Seems like converting to electric from manual is harder than the other way around....lol

Digging into wiring today to see what's up. I have a complete dash and cab harnesses for the elec. 4x4, I'll make my own sub harness if I have to.

FORD....MAZDA = FAZDA.....sorta a demeaning, but not, nickname for the truck. better than the alternative chknfkr came up with.

It's catchy, and when people see Mazda sticker on the tailgate, and a FORD emblem up front it initiates some head scratching.....

But yeah...now that you mention it.....FAZDA is like saying FASTER with an accent....lol

But I really like the glass licking monkey from an egg....my life in a nutshell. :icon_rofl:

whats wrong with the name i came up with? its simple, to the point, has a multitude of meanings....

lol....yeah...but even though it starts with the same letterand, yes, can't be used as a noun, adjective, or verb.....FAZDA is just more unique.

PLUS...do I really need another reason to say F%$#?

only when you're working on it

you are correct.....twas a popular word when working on er' last June.

Utilizing the supercab

Decided to use the space behind the seats for a purpose. I'm workin on a wood shelving type of system. It'll have compartments at each end (in place of the jump seats) and in the middle have slots to store and hold between 5-6 ammo cans.

These ammo cans will house recovery items, towing items, tie downs, provisions, rations?, spare parts, and other trip, off-road, and truck essentials.

Also need to mount a fire extinguisher.

Not sure what else will pop into my head....have a 4 day weekend :icon_thumby:

Pictures of utilizing said supercab:

As you can see, I used wood. Easy to get, use, and shape.

There is enough room or 5 ammo cans. Plenty.

The cubby holes at the ends will match the trim that goes back behind the jump seats. These will hold extra stuff, maybe even extra liquids, etc.

There is plenty of seat clearance. This is with the seat where I usually have it while driving.

And this is it with the seat reclined....for naps and such.

Overall.....it's a bitch to get in and out, I still need to solid mount it to the cab....and the biggest question.....what to cover it with????

Sand and Paint?
Some sort of vehicle fabric?
Bedliner material?

Give opinions....please....:icon_confused:

Center counsel???

There is also the thought of coming off this, up into between the seats and creating a homemade center counsel.....:icon_cheers:

I think I would carpet it or wrap it in some kind of vinyl, it would look nice and finished. And I like the idea of a connecting console

Storage, Storage, Storage!

Went looking for something to cover it, and just happened to be at wal-mart of all places and find gray "vehicle replacement carpet". $8 a roll, I can't resist to pick up a couple rolls. That and some staples, paired with 3M brand spray glue came up with this.........

I had to take it apart in order to fit the carpet, but it wasn't too much of a hassle. This is the first part I did. Looked good, and I was a little excited.....decided to proceed.

Overall the carpet wasn't as hard to lay as I thought it would be. The spray glue is awesome, and the staples held the whole deal at the ends well. This is an example of a corner.

looks pro man! now finagle it into the truck and post some shots!

Dude.....you wouldn't believe how much a PITA it is to get in and out.....:fie:

It's going in when I'm sure I want it in. lol

I still have wires to run to the amp hidden within.

Then I'll lay it in.

It's ok putting it in, it's getting it back out that's almost impossible.

Definitely thinking of a center console now. Just need to think and plan what I want it to do and be used for. I'll have something up sooner or later.
