looking to purchase a "Power train control and emissions diagnostics " car/truck manual for my 2005 Ranger.
are these manuals Ranger specific? or do they cover all models of Ford cars & trucks for the year? ( I suspect all models. )
is there much in them that isn't in the Workshop manuals, and wiring diagram manuals?

what all is in them?
really helpful,,,,,just sorta helpful?,,,,,

The PC/ED is the book of tests for P codes. They are essential for diagnosing check engine lights, beyond that not that useful.

They are year specific, but not really model specific. If you have a digital version it is more model specific. A paper version will tell you "test this circuit" and then you have to use the other books to find the connector and pin you need. A digital version will have that information on the page with the test step.

There is no overlap between the Workshop manual, the PC/ED, and the EVTM, except maybe a few connector pinout diagrams.
