So i got this 98 ranger stock with a little bit over sized tires, and i just went muddin for the first time and have found my new hobby. I've been looking into getting a kinda cheap lift so i am getting a 3" body lift. I also came across the torsion lift in the tech library. I want to do that too to give it a little more lift but doesnt that just lift the front? I also heard about adding a leaf spring in the back so i could level out the torsion lift in the front. So i was wondering what kinda spring and if i could just go to a pick and pull and get some for cheap. And how much would one spring lift the back? Also would it be an easy job?

well the torsion lift and body lift will make it look real nice. thats exactly what i did with my 04. i wouldnt lift the rear any more because it will sit way higher than the front. after your torsion lift it will sit just about level.

Thanks for the info. So how much did lift with torsion so that it was just about leveled?

most only raise the front about 1 1/2" - 2", any more and you put undo stress on the balljoints and CV's as well as lose basically all downward suspension travel....

and since the truck is from the factory with the rear a little higher...it will level it out as stated before, so no need to raise the rear any...

and with the 3" BL and a TT ( torsion twist ) you will be able to run 33" tires easily....

good luck and post pics....:icon_thumby:
