Project SVT

Thanks guys. It took quite a bit of time to get it to look factory. I've got about 3 hours into getting the explorer donor harness prepped and ready for install (deleted all emissions from engine harness including egr and dpfm, deleted all unused circuits from 42 pin connector) took a full 8 hours of identifying and removing the hacked up harness that was in there, and took about 10 hours to install and tie the new harness to the jeep harness using the ford distribution box(located on the driver side firewall) which feeds the entire jeep's power needs including the motor(every connection was soldered and heat shrunk like factory form). Wired in OBD2 diagnostic port in the cab as well a OD cancellation button (used a 91 F series switch from an E4OD equipped truck). All in all I've got about 160 hours in this project, but I also fixed all the bad and hacked on this rig too, like redoing the entire exhaust, redoing the fuel lines (it had regular rubber fuel lines running an injected motor) redoing the power steering pressure hose, etc. Owner is coming to pick this up this weekend, but it will be back in a month or two. It's getting a kp hp Dana 60 and 14b narrowed to 60" Wms and 40's. After this is done I should have SVT back up and running the trails by turkey day...

I like it! Looks good man, and props for taking the time to do it right!

Thanks. I can't stand a half assed, hacked up job. This jeep has been to 3 different shadetree mechanics before coming to me with a running issue. I had it pinned in about 10 minutes...

Too bad you're not closer to me, there's a set of 5 tons complete for $1200 on CL right now.

Nice. I think I'm going to build project HWW first (which I'm collecting parts for as we speak) and once I sell it, it'll fund SVT phase 3...

Whats "HWW" ?!?

Robert

posted with a backward "Y".

HWW stands for Hardcore Weekend Wheeler. Truck will consist of a 94 ranger xcab (josh40601's old yellow cab ranger), tube bed, sas, shortened wheelbase, locked front and rear, cage (haven't decided if it'll be rollcage or exo yet), doubler, custom beadlocks, either 4.0 or 5.0, and some other odds and ends. Build should start early next year...

You got more projects than Carter's got liver pills! Rather than start another, just finish the one that is now too Ed too tall jones for Turkey Bay!

Just paint it!

I got SVT almost ready to go, the jeep I just finished the v8 swap on, going to be getting it back in a couple months for tons and 40" iroks, and I've got two more builds in the works. Got to make money, and the shop's open :icon_thumby:
