yea it was. it would just barely pop out. got it bolted in today. it shall be finished tomorrow. then i get to to vacume lines:icon_twisted:

If you get the chance, ditch the single pipe exhaust and put in the stock headers and cats from a 87-93 5.0. They breathe so much better than the old cast iron manifolds and single cat. I did the swap along with a flowmaster cat back exhaust that i bought used from a guy I know for $75. Took it through inspection and the guys didn't know what to make of my car. It ran so clean they had to pull the floor mirror out and look again. It barely registered on the emissions test. If you do use the later years catalytic converters you'll have to plug the O2 sensor holes. Walker makes plugs for just that. They used to be a couple bucks a piece. Don't know what they're going for these days.

I hate to rain on your parade, but you won't be able to use the cobra roller cam with the earlier 5.0 block. If you swap the cam you need to throw roller lifters in and there isn't any place to bolt the spider down inside the lifter valley. Everything else should work. Except with the 289 heads, you won't be able to get it to pass emissions. But if you decide to keep the heads it should run great.

why wouldnt the heads let him pass emissions? just has a smaller chamber i believe..

i was told diffrent with the cam. oh well ill look into it. i plan on getting it running good as is. going through emissions and getting collectors plates and then doing the head stuff. when you have those plates you dont have to go through emissions unless your tags expire and you dont renew them in time.

thats what i thought. my teacher took his 289 and put 302 heads on it to have the same goal. at least i think.

i got the tranny in today, got her running. got all new tranny fluid and oil in. i started on the vacume lines. this thing will light them right up then power breaking it :D.

i got a guy offering me 2500$ cash for it, i told him to give me 24 hours to think it over. so far i bought the car for 350$ and ive only put 150$ into it. what do ya think?

get it completely fixed up and ive saw them sell for 5k+ my brothers is valued at 8k

thats my thought. im going to tell him to let me finish getting it running and able to pass emissions:icon_thumby:

2500 for your car? Sell it!! No offence, but to make your car worth much more than that, it is going to start costing you some cash....let it go and then buy another, nicer one with the 2500!

I would definitely sell it. Personal opinion though. I hate fox body stangs.
