Purchased for 140 CAD i got this steal of a truck. now only a true ranger lover could appreciate this work of art. lol its a 4wd stx, 88 and will either get a 2.9 trnsplanted to replace the very tired one, or a 4.0 if someone will provide pictures of the wires needed to be swapped, or at least a very detailed description of what wires need to be cut.
it needs 2 safeties so it wont see the engine swap until the mechanical is fixed. new brakes, steering column, and window will take care of the mechanical, new box for the rear,then we can really dig into it! i also scored a posi off my cousin for 40 bucks!!!! he's gonna charge me 60 to put it in and were done!(well, not done but no project ever is)
for now i also need to find a rear driveshaft cause the original bent and vibrated. (so i was told)
could someone tell me if this is a highrider?

and on an unrelated note, this winter i had driveshaft funwith my 2wd)

bought some parts for it, gettin a box liner and flasher so signals work... need those for the safety. waiting on cash from exploder project

Thats the ranger I want!!!! Why does everybody else get the truck I want. Its extended cab, 4x4, v-6, and 4wd. Mines everything except extended cab and 5-speed, and close to being a v-6. Hopefully mine will have a SAS soon.

I want SAS also! plus you dont want it it needs lots of love AKA lots of money. im throwin a few hundred bucks at it soon so i can get it on the road for winter! hopefully it lasts that long...

Trust me I do want it. My truck was bought for 500 USD and has over 1000 USD in it so far. I just threw 500 USD at my ranger to put my v-6 in it (trust me I saved money putting the v-6 in that was given to me). From the looks of the picture tha trucks body was taken care of.

Today I'm going to go see my D30 thats being given to me (well helping my brother-in-law paint his house, thats how its free). I hope its a good one with a HP shaft. Gave up riding motorcycles today for it. I've never seen a ranger with a SAS in person though.

well once its done you can come and take it for a rip, blow through the mud a little!
little kinda progress? i built a bed winch mount for pulling my go cart into the truck and it mounts via the tie down cutouts so it'll be transplanted into the 4x4 when its on the road. big offroad partay soon, need to get the cart goin soon!

took me like 5 times longer than i thought it would... is this just me or does time always just rocket when you pissed off and tryin to get it done even though it frustrates you cause its dumbs stuff! (like waitin 2 hours for dad to be done watchin his show so he can come fix the stupid welder even though it was just a bad stick! UGH!!!)

So Ill have Jeep axles under my truck in the future (you can see them on my build thread).

saweeet im gonna check it out. i thought about the d30 way but i figure the 44 will be worth the wait. plus im semi broke so no safety means no SAS. yet. also lookin into a EFI 302 to turn the 35-37" meats i wanna run. im still doin my 4 link homework. you planning just leafs?

Coils would be great to use but I dont have the time for it plus I dont plan on driving it off road to much. More or less to get through the snow better and for looks.

from the average persons perspective rangers can use any help they can get in the looks department but in my opinion any ranger is damn sexy!

lookin forward to that doors thing. im tryin to save money to get this stupid thing back on the road so i can rip it all apart! once its saftied things should move faster, gonna cost me like 500 bucks to get the bed fixed and the cab+bed painted...

The doors im putting on, like I said nothing special, are the type that have the little tri-angle window on them, basiclly what broncho 2 have but I got them off a ranger. They need a little more body work to them. Right now the weather isnt agreeing with me and I can get the wiring done on my truck (rain). Another thing that slowed me down was my dads PS pump high pressure line blew off and man what a mess it made, but got that fixed.
