look man... you CAN gear your own axles. its not that hard.
it'd save you LOTS of money.
main thing is that you have the tools. torque wrench. bearing remover. micometer. dial indicator.
I'm fine with having someone else do it.....really not gonna cost that much, guy I go to is pretty cheap....parts cost the same whether I buy them or the shop I go to does. Maybe I'll find some used gears by chance on CL...Plus my time isn't cheap, I'd rather have a shop do it and be done with it in a day, instead of fiddling with it for say 6hrs that I could be studying for engineering finals


Thing is me and father have been going to this small shop our whole lives, and we know the guy and he always gives us extras deals. Also, my dad's company uses him almost exclusively for any drivetrain work on the fleet. We like to give him any business we can since times are tough and that is his sole income which is him doing what we all love to do, work on trucks and wheel.
