I was window shopping on ebay and found a seller who had 2 nos ecms for a 1997 ford ranger 3.0. I did research and found this..

The part numbers F77F-12A650-WC and F77F-12A650-TB are both OEM powertrain control modules (PCMs) for 1997 Ford Ranger and Mazda B3000 trucks with a 3.0L engine and hardware code ML2-30E. They are generally cross-compatible and interchangeable when flashed with the correct engineering updates, though exact matching depends on your specific vehicle options and emissions configuration.

The wc is california and the tb is federal. My 97 ranger came from oregon so it had the federal ecm..tb. Im currently in california until i move to another, if my health allows me to.

Will the ecm from california be compatible with the federal?

Could someone explain about the flashing updates for the california vs federal ecm?

He is asking 100.00 for each. I would like to find out if it will be alright to use prior of purchase. My 94 3.0 5spd was a california truck and those ecms were fa and fb..had no issues with the compatibility of those. Not sure about state vs federal.

Any assistance on this will help..thanks.
