My '76 RD400...slowly coming back together...rebuilt the engine, just have some odds and ends to finish up and it'll be ready to ride again.

Wow, rear disc brakes and a kick starter. That's a combo you don't see everyday.

Look a little closer at the engine too and see if you notice anything. My '78 xs400 had discs and a kick starter too, but it had electric start as well, unlike this bike.

edit: pic of the '78 XS400, sold it 2 years ago, should have kept it so I woulda had something to ride while the RD was down, lost a lot of money on it too..

Honestly I rather have a mid 70's MotoGuzi like a LAPD model.
The old muffler is being replaced as soon as I sit and weld up the new one.

I ride this. I love the old straight-up styling. No raked forks or forward controls. It's fuel injected and tuned for low-end power so it has no trouble getting up to 60mph turning onto the state highway. It's honest--a simple standard with a single cylinder. Reminds me of old British bikes, which the old Japanese Honda 350s and such were styled after. It's the only thing like it built now. A brilliant little machine. It's not a 250 v-twin with a 27" seat height pretending to be a Harley. It's what you find in the Encyclopedia Britannica under motorcycle.

Here's some of my old bikes. The RZ350 Kenny Roberts with a 421cc Athena kit is my favorite bike to ride.

If it wasn't for the font of the emblem and model designation I would have thought it was a restored older bike, I never would have guessed anyone made bikes like that anymore.

Here is mine, 1976 Honda XL-350.

It did run great but I let it sit for a couple years, now it needs, the tank cleaned out, a carb kit, throttle/chock cables and of course the rear tire is still bald. :annoyed:

The guy I got it from had pretty much forgetten about it in his corncrib and had lost the title in the 20 years since the last time he rode it... so it is basically just a dirtbike. Since I have just about gotten myself an acreage to do it justice to ride around I hope to get it going again.

Rode my first bike this summer, my cousin bought an R1 and had me come over and ride it up and down his street (no traffic) a few times... got my motorcycle licenses a few days later and now I really want one!

I'm not sure whats all done to his, but it's crazy fast!

Definitely going to get one this coming up summer.

If youre new to bikes, i would start with something way smaller/slower than an R1 thats for sure.

That TZR is a beauty.

thanks...i put a lot of miles on it.rode from my home outside of vancouver down to L.A.,over to vegas, then up through reno back home.
all in a 4 day easter weekend.it also got a fair bit of off road action following the trials circuit(as a spectator)and is still in nice shape.

like your K.R. RZ,it's not something you see every day.

^^^ One at the famous Ashtabula lift bridge,Rumor has it that a lonely widow didn't know what to do with her departed husband's perscription of Viagra so she dumped it into the Ashtabula river--They couldn't get the Bridge to come down for 2 days
