92 4.0, I’m hearing a air leak (I assume) in the area of the fuel pressure regulator. I put a new regulator on it and it’s doing the same thing. The truck seems to loose prime when sitting overnight and the only way I can start it is spray gas directly into the intake. I currently have the intake off and can’t find any leaking fuel lines or anything. Any ideas on what to look at?

You need to put a fuel pressure gauge on it to verify if it really is a fuel prime problem. Then you can figure out if it's a leaky injector, leaky check valve in the fuel pump, or a leaky fuel pressure regulator. If the pressure gauge never loses very much pressure , you can look somewhere else for the problem.

I started off by changing the pressure regulator, then changed the fuel pump and filter. It get to be expensive to just change parts so I thought I might find help here. Fuel pressure gauge is impossible to find here so I haven’t done that. One thing I did figure out was pulling the fuel pump fuse out will make the noise stop. So I’m fairly certain that it’s a fuel system issue.
