Hello!

We are currently having to fill the radiator everytime we use the truck.
When you turn it off, all the water runs out. We have been told it's the water pump, the radiator itself,or a hose.

We aren't sure where exactly the water is coming from. Has anyone had a similar problem??????

We are open to any and all suggestions. We live in a rural city, and I have extremely limited resources. So anything cheap is especially welcomed.lol.

Now our other main issue is the fuel gauge. It doesn't work properly. At times it has wobbled, but it never tells you how much gas is in the tank. Hence a lot of walking home for my boy. We now know the mpg (roughly) so this helps but still, a working gas gauge would be nice.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS.

GOD BLESS! :-)

the fuel gauge is probably caused by a bad sending unit in the tank. No One on this website is going to be able to tell you exactly what the problem is without more info. Go out to the truck and look around for a leaking hose a leaking radiator .when the water pumps go bads they usually leak out of a a small seep hole. you can buy a dye to put in to help see the hole. I have a feeling if you just go look you will see it without any dye

Not for the mechanically challenged:

6 bolts hold on the bed. 3 hold the gas filler on. remove these and lift up or lift off the bed to enable you to get to the fuel tank hoses. high pressure air to dust the crud off the top. pull the clips on the hoses, take a punch and walk the attaching ring off by tapping on a retaining ring tooth counter clockwise. notice which way the hoses point or match mark the assy. gently pull out the pump sensor assy being careful to not bend the float arm or lose the rubber gasket. at this point you will either see a rotted out float or not. if it is rotted, and won't float, you will have to get a new pump/fuel float assy. on the float arm side is a little box that the float arm goes into. gently pop the tangs loose from the cover and look for a couple of small finger spring sliding contacts. gently bend these so they touch the slotted resistor thingey (with wires) then slap the booger back together. if you bent the fingers correctly, the float lever will make contact and Viola the gauge will work. You can test it out of the car but disconnect the red wire to the pump first, so the pump won't run and burn out. put the harness on the tank top, move the float lever up and down and the gauge will move appropriately

put all that stuff back together, and drain the tank and incrementally put fuel back in to see what the gauge says. the tank seal ring is a pita to reinstall, but don't silicone it back on. i like gasket glue or trans gasket sealer.

I should do pictures of this someday.

Grab the fan and try and wiggle it if it wiggles you need a water pump check your hoses for holes tighten all the clamps there are alot of places it could leak especially if it has been neglected. I am sure everyone here has had this problem and you might have to get on your back to determine where it is leaking or get someone else to. If you keep the tank full or fill it every 100 or so miles you will not run out. you allways know when it is full that is the only way not to run ot of gas when the guage dont work. reset the mileage with each fillup
