Just figured i'd put up my opinion on the Pennzoil synchromesh fluid!!! I have a 97 Ranger, 4wd, 5 speed. Just swapped from Mercon V to The Pennzoil today. And i must say, HUGE improvement. My gears are no longer notchy when shifting, and the noise i hear from the gearbox went down a lot to. I know the bottle says GM and chrysler only, but i did some reading before i put it in, and i Didn't want to pay $18 a quart for Royal purple. This is just my $.02. anyone else use this stuff?

ive used it and one other thing ive noticed is that the trans doesnt get quite as hot with it. on a 20 mile drive the hurst shift lever where it goes into the boot at the floor would get very warm with a.t.f. in the case. its not nearly as warm on the same drive while using the pennzoil syncromesh fluid.

Its always good to know the temps are down then, i do occasionally haul heavy loads with this truck.
