Orange 1977 Pinto

Terminator is playing again tomorrow, I’m recording it. We’ll see if it’s a wagon.

It’s the coupe, not the wagon. You can tell from the rear fender flare and the cut of the roof, and you can actually see the small pop out window. Were they pop out? I can’t remember for sure.

And this one’s missing those headlight bezels. I think it may be yours!

Also, this was apparently the Indy car version, with the removable steering wheel so you could get in and out.

And note it doesn’t have the optional postage stamp size rearview mirror on the death seat side. Or was the rear seat the death seat in these things?

You gotta be joking.

RE: Final Scene, Mejico, Terminator Uno, the original 1984 classic... it seems duh Hollyweird set designers were trying create an air of poverty/scarcity, and the much-maligned Pinto certainly fits that bill... also, what is that baby-blue bomber w/ white roof over by the rack of tires, 70s-era Chevy Impala? (OTOH, then and NOW, 'Pemex' is still the dominant oil monopoly in Mexico... hmmm...) #CharmingLevelsOfCorruption

Final minutes of The Terminator, where Linda Hamilton pulls into the Mexican gas station in the middle of nowhere.

Movie was made at 85, and it was old then. But I didn’t know it was famous.

I’m just sayin’

As far as the absent/optional/deleted passenger-side mirror, I guess we were all more limber back then, and much more used to looking over our right shoulder for both backing up and changing lanes to starboard! :derisive:

Passenger side mirrors weren't required until sometime in the '90's... but back then A B and C pillars weren't near as big and in the way as they are now with modern crash ratings... Even now you are required to have two functioning and adjusted mirrors on a car but now with 3 you can block one as long as there's still two you can see...

Dang, the things you learn on Googly... turns out ONLY the 1969 Impala had those tail-lights! '68 had ROUND ones, '70 had VERTICAL rectangles! Stylist bois were busy in those days! Good luck finding the necessary matching BUMPER for any of them these days. :dntknw:

Personally, I’d like to have the 40.3 pesos per liter back

Orange 1977 Pinto

If you split the difference, and use 330, and my math is correct, that works out to about $.49 a gallon.
